When IM 64

December is often used as a metaphor for a time in a person's life commonly referred to as the "golden years"... a time when the kids have grown up and have gone out to find their own way in the world...a time when your job and your household finances no longer consume your every waking hour with toil and concern...a time to spend enjoying the company of family and close friends. I think that a person can consider themselves truly blessed if they can say that they've entered their golden years. Perhaps this sentiment is better captured in these famous words of Sir Paul McCartney and the Beatles:


When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now,
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine?

If I'd been out till quarter to three
